Can I book an appointment online?
Yes, appointments can be booked via this website. Please follow this link for more information.
What issues does Kelly specialise in?
Kelly has a range of experience, from conducting various psychological assessments, to treating adjustment disorder, anxiety, depression, PTSD/trauma, OCD, grief/loss, loneliness, low self-esteem, parenting support, stress related concerns, and relationship issues. Kelly has worked in the workers compensation system and is familiar with the requirements to work within a multidisciplinary team.
Do I need a referral to see a psychologist?
You don’t need a referral to make an appointment. However, without a referral under a Mental Health Treatment Plan from your GP or Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for paying the full fee for each consultation and will not be able to claim any funds back from Medicare.
What is a Mental Health Treatment Plan?
You will need a Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP) from your GP in order to claim back a Medicare rebate on your psychology sessions. You or your GP can email a copy of your MHTP and referral ahead to your first appointment to referrals@kellyhunt.com.au.
- How to get a Mental Health Treatment Plan
- Book an appointment with your GP and make sure to let them know you require a Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP), as you will need longer than a standard session.
- Once obtained, you can ask the GP’s admin staff to email us the MHTP and/or get a copy of your MHTP so you can email it to us.
- Once we receive this you will be eligible for 6 rebated sessions.
- After 6 sessions, you may be able to access a further 4 discounted sessions. The maximum sessions you can use on a MHTP is limited to 10 in a calendar year. To access another 4 sessions, you will need to make another appointment with your GP to discuss eligibility and if they agree there is a need for more sessions they will extend your MHTP.
What is your cancellation policy?
We require 48 hours notice or more for cancellations. Less than 48 hours’ notice for a cancellation will incur a cancellation fee of 50% of the session cost, which is not eligible for Medicare rebate. If your appointment is cancelled within 24 hours of your appointment time, we will charge the full session fee. This is because we have an extensive waitlist and early cancellations allow us to offer the appointment to someone else waiting for treatment.

How much do I get back from Medicare?
The current Medicare rebate amount is $96.65 (as at January 2025). You will need a current Mental Health Treatment Plan from your GP to access this rebate.
